Burnham Rugby Club unveils new benches in memory of supporter

-

Burnham-On-Sea Rugby Club has formally unveiled two new pitchside substitute benches in memory of a long-time club supporter.

Tim Harcombe passed away over the past month after many years involvement with the club in which he also set up the first colts team.

Club President Mike O’Farrell and fellow senior players and club members gathered over the weekend to unveil the two pitchside substitute benches.

Mike said the benches are among many changes at the club over the past year. “We are celebrating the ongoing development of the rugby facilities at the BASC Ground. It was just over a year ago when we opened our superb covered grandstand.”

“The club has not rested on its laurels and has continued to progress in providing upgraded facilities. The clubhouse itself has had a facelift in and out with a newly decorated and carpeted interior and fascia boards outside.”

He said that a new electronic scoreboard has also recently been introduced and now the benches will be an added extra facility.
