Ambulance service in Burnham-On-Sea won’t be affected by strike

-

Ambulance services in Burnham-On-Sea will not be affected by industrial action being planned in the West Country over the next few weeks.

South Western Ambulance Service, which operates Burnham Ambulance Station, told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Friday that it is not involved with the industrial action being considered by staff at the neighbouring Great Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

Lynne Paramor, Director of Corporate Services at South Western Ambulance Service, said its stations at Burnham, Glastonbury, Shepton Mallet, Frome will not be affected. “Services will be operating as normal,” she confirmed.

It comes as staff at Great Western Ambulance Service in other parts of Somerset have voted in favour of industrial action amid a dispute over pay and conditions.
