Three good causes in Burnham area receive boost from Asda

-

Three good causes in the Burnham-On-Sea area have this week benefited from a fundraising scheme at Asda’s Highbridge store.

The supermarket encourages customers to vote for their favourite groups by dropping tokens into collecting boxes – and those that attract the most receive a cash donation.

Burnham Coastguard Association received the most tokens in the latest month and Dave Ilsley is pictured receiving a £100 donation from the store’s Community Life Champion, Kim Blyth.

Runners were The National Animal Welfare Trust and Somewhere House, who received £25 each. All three groups said they were grateful for the donations.

Kim told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Asda strives to support the local community around each store and get the whole community involved. This allows many different causes the chance to not only raise funds, but also generate awareness.”

To propose a local group or charity, pick up a nomination form which can be found on the community board in the foyer of the Highbridge store.
