Hundreds of people braved heavy rain showers to attend a Burnham-On-Sea fun day on Saturday in memory of four-year-old Dylan Cecil, the toddler who drowned after falling from Burnham’s jetty last summer.

Dylan’s Memory Music and Fun Day was held over the course of ten hours at The Dunstan House Inn in Love Lane and attracted big crowds of spectators keen to support Burnham’s rescue services.

Money raised from the event has gone to BARB, the RNLI, Burnham Coastguards, SARbot (an underwater rescue charity) and the Dylan Trust Fund, which is raising money to help underprivileged children.

Along with children’s entertainment and an auction, plus craft stalls there was live music throughout the day from Ryan A O Inglis, Caught on The Back Foot, The Midsummer Surfers, The Cat Scratch Band, Six Machine and The Riverbrew.

Organiser Dusica Roberts told Burnham-On-Sea.com she was pleased with how the event had gone. “We had a steady flow of visitors and everyone enjoyed themselves while raising money for these good causes,” she said.
