Local film makers James and Kate Cameron, pictured, worked with local actor Stefan Andrews and drama student Thomas Llywarch on the short film.
Called ‘The Masquerade: The Brenton Hill Incident’, it is described as a ‘docu-horror’ and revolves around a fictional team of movie makers who disappear while making a film in and around the fictional town of Brenton.
James told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We make films for fun, and to prove that good storytelling does not require ‘A’ list actors, exotic locations or giant budgets to be entertaining.”
“The film was shot across the area including Burnham Beach, around St Mary’s Church in Berrow and Ralph’s Wood in Brent Knoll.”
“The film investigates the run up to the night that a team of movie makers disappeared and uncovers shocking evidence of what happened.”
“The project is essentially a double-bill with the main feature ‘The Masquerade: The Brenton Hill Incident’ running in at 20 minutes while the second film ‘The Forsaken’, which is part of the main feature, runs in at eight minutes.”
The film will be launched on DVD at the Avalon Visions table at the annual Stars of Times 2013 convention taking place at Weston’s Helicopter Museum on July 28th.
The team are also hard at work on their next project which, while exact details have yet to be announced, will be a sci-fi adventure filmed in Burnham.
It will be part of a charity fundraising project for Children In Need 2013 and will be released in October.
