Burnham’s very own Full Monty group raise £1,700 for charity

-

A group of ‘Full Monty’ style dancers handed over a bumper cheque for over £1,700 to a cancer charity on Friday night (February 12th) following a successful fundraising event in Burnham-On-Sea.

A cheque for £1,749.35 was handed over to Cancer Research at the Somerset and Dorset pub, as pictured.

Organiser Terry Hughes told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Burnham’s own ‘Full Monty’ group, The Funky Monkeys, put on a great show that was enjoyed by everyone!”

“We’re delighted to have raised such a big amount for Cancer Research and thank everyone who supported the event.”

At the fundraiser, held last November, The Funky Monkeys stripped off to the sound of ‘Leave Your Hat On’ from the blockbuster Full Monty movie.

The organisers also thanked Jackie Tanner and Becki Bond for their help on the night. The event included a raffle, karaoke, music and an auction.
