Local holiday park operator celebrates trio of awards across region

-

Local holiday company John Fowler Holidays has become the first operator to win a finalist award at all three of the region’s South West Tourism Awards ceremonies.

The firm has been recognised in the finals for Sandy Glade Holiday Park in Berrow, plus St Ives Holiday Village in Cornwall, and South Bay Holiday Park in Brixham.

The parks were the recipients of three awards: Finalist in Cornwall Holiday Park of the Year; Finalist in Devon Holiday Park of the Year; and Finalist and overall winner in Bristol, Bath & Somerset Holiday Park of the Year.

Managing Director John Martyn Fowler told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are absolutely delighted. Awards in all three counties!”

“We recently embarked on an ambitious strategy to develop the highest possible quality at our parks, and these awards serve as an endorsement of our talented team of staff who I would like to personally thank for the huge contribution they have made. We are extremely proud of what we have achieved over the last couple of years.”

The awards themselves were hotly contested with a record breaking 651 plus entries across the South West; a rigorous 3 phase judging process carried out by 51 independent expert judges; and 377 visits (mainly mystery) made to shortlisted entrants.

All successful finalists will be considered for the South West Tourism Excellence Awards to be held at Aerospace Bristol under the last Concorde ever to fly in February of next year.

In 2018, John Fowler Holidays have also been awarded with three Trip Advisor Certificates of Excellence, 10 David Bellamy Conservation Awards and a Green Tourism Award. They are hoping to build on this success for 2019 to deliver even more holidaymakers into the South West region to support the prevalent tourism economy.
