Police appeal for witnesses after man is mugged and slashed with knife in Burnham

-

Police have appealed for witnesses after a person was allegedly mugged in Burnham-On-Sea early this morning (Friday, April 19th).

The man, pictured here, was walking along Oxford Street when he was pushed, slashed with a knife and had his wallet stolen.

Jo Radford, who posted this photo of her shocked partner online, confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com: “My partner was walking to the garage at 5am’ish on Oxford Street and he got mugged.”

“He was walking down the alley and he saw a group of lads and a couple of girls. As he walked passed, one lad pushed him and slashed his face with a knife and his hand and took his wallet.”

“Putting this on here to warn others to please be careful walking around alone.”

She told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the incident has been reported to Burnham Police.  Anyone with information should contact Police on 101.
