150 Burnham and Highbridge children to take part in Rotary music event

-

Schoolchildren from across Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge will be coming together later this month to take part in a big music event being organised by the town’s Rotary Club.

St Mark’s Church in Highbridge will host the first ‘Youth Makes Music’ event on Monday January 22nd for primary and infant schools organised by Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club.

The club’s George Moon told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This is not a competition. It is simply designed to encourage schools, their staff and pupils to enjoy and take part in making and performing music, either vocal or instrumental. Almost all junior schools in Burnham and Highbridge are taking part, and so far 150 children are involved in performances.”

Participating schools have been allocated tickets to sell to parents and friends, and with the numbers involved, a full church is expected.

Schools will keep the proceeds of their ticket sales for the benefit of their music departments. The Rotary Club will provide stewards and other organisational support.
