New £26,000 walkway completed at Burnham-On-Sea Sailing Club

-

A project to construct a new £26,000 walkway at Burnham-On-Sea Sailing Club has been completed this week.

The new walkway gives members access onto the club’s pontoons across the muddy banks of the River Brue at high tide, replacing an old walkway that had been in place for several years.

Sailing Club President David Humprey told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’re delighted with the new walkway – it’s a huge improvement on the old one.”

“It’s safer, more secure and allows our members to get onto the pontoons even during high tides of over 11 metres.”

The old walkway has been removed and is being dismantled. David thanked members for their patience whilst the work has been taking place.
