Two stranded sheep rescued from ditch by Burnham firefighters

-

Burnham-On-Sea firefighters rescued two stranded sheep that had fallen into a ditch this morning (Tuesday, June 14th).

A member of the public called the fire service shortly before 10am amid concern for two sheep in a water-filled rhyne in fields next to Burnham’s Frank Foley Parkway.

One appliance from Burnham-On-Sea and a specialist rescue vehicle from Bridgwater attended along with two officers for specialist advice.

The specialist rescue team rescued the sheep to a place of safety.

The fire service said it always attends such incidents to avoid the risk of people putting themselves in difficulty by trying to reach animals themselves.
