In photos: Speedway star visits Burnham-On-Sea information centre
Somerset Rebels speedway star Christian Hefenbrock made a special visit to Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday (April 21st).
The rider visited the recently-opened Burnham information centre on The Esplanade where he signed autographs and met supporters.
As part of the special promotional event, visitors were also able to buy signed photographs, which raised money for BIARS (Burnham Information And Rescue Support), which now operates the community-run information centre.
Tom Ashton from BIARS told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are very grateful to Christian and the team from the Oaktree Arena for visiting us.”
“There was lots of interest from supporters, many of whom also took a look around our new centre.”
Burnham photographer Mike Lang took photos of visitors at Thursday’s event and these were sold in aid of BIARS.
Christian was crowned full German Champion in 2006 and has also twice finished runner-up in the German Championship.
Following spells with Wolverhampton, Lakeside, Peterborough and Coventry, he linked up with the Somerset Rebels in 2010 and has gone on to become a top rider, scoring several maximum points in recent meetings.
