Exciting plans for a new multi-million pound tourist attraction on Brent Knoll are set to be unveiled.
The proposals include a new cable car service, running from the bottom of the hill near the village hall to the top, along with a new dry ski slope and mountain biking track underneath.
The group behind the plans say they hope the £5million facilities will bring thousands of extra visitors into the Burnham-On-Sea area every year.
The proposals – which have not yet received the approval of local councils – are being drawn up by a group of mystery overseas investors.
A spokesman from the group, Farad Pilsoloy, said: “These facilities will provide a really exciting tourism boost to the area – the cable car will enable people of all ages to quickly get to the top of Brent Knoll in a 12-minute ride and then enjoy the stunning views across Somerset at the top.”
“I can confirm that we are also planning to introduce a dry ski run for year-round skiing – the gentle slopes of Brent Knoll are perfect for this. A mountain biking track will also run alongside the slope.”
“We have held preliminary talks with several key stakeholders, with a view to formally submitting the plans very shortly.”
If consent is given to the plans, the group hopes that it will be ready to open by the Spring of 2021.
