Burnham-On-Sea RNLI to celebrate 20th birthday of lifeboat station tomorrow

-

Burnham-On-Sea RNLI lifeboat volunteers will be celebrating the 20th birthday of their lifeboat station on Saturday 23rd December by inviting members of the public along to a ‘Brew with the Crew’.

The lifeboat station will be open between the hours of 10.30 am and 12.00 noon, when visitors to the station can enjoy a social cuppa and see how the local lifeboat crew save lives at sea in Burnham.

“The station crew would be delighted for you to meet you, and show off their Lifeboats and Launching Tractors at the station on Pier Street,” says a Burnham-On-Sea RNLI spokesperson.

A mile-long RNLI Reindeer Run will also be held from the station to the Yacht Club, walking along the seafront.

“Bring your children along, as there may be the opportunity for them to meet Stormy Stan, the RNLI mascot. In line with our sustainability vision, please bring your own mug if you can.”

Operations Manager Matt Davis adds: “This is a terrific opportunity to look at what we do and how we do it, especially if you have thought about joining us as a lifeboat volunteer!”
