Mayor joins charity’s candle-lit church service in Burnham-On-Sea

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Mayor and Mayoress were among a congregation of over 50 people at the town’s annual Light Up A Life Service on Wednesday night (December 8th).

Sedgemoor District Council’s Chairman Jane Moreton also joined Mayor Michael Clarke and Mayoress Maria Clarke for the popular service in St Andrew’s Church.

Held in aid of St Margaret’s Hospice, it was conducted by Reverend Paul Kingdom and included a procession of lights led by the charity’s Julie Draper. Prayers were led by John Page.

A spokesperson for the hospice told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Our Light up a Life services are very popular community events where people come together to remember and celebrate the life of a loved one.”
