New Burnham drill squad is formed with ambitions of getting on TV

-

A new marching drill squad was formed on Wednesday (August 12th) with the aim of possibly reaching ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent television series.

Organiser Allan Roberts, who is a former army sergeant and retired police officer, wants to help youngsters in Burnham and Highbridge beat boredom during the school holidays while boosting their team-working.

“The aim is to increase fitness, discipline, teamwork and have a lot of fun,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“If it takes off, maybe we can look at uniforms, sponsorship, displays, competitions and possibly even a bid to get onto Britain’s Got Talent.”

The group next meets at Highbridge Youth Centre on Thursday August 20th and is open to all boys and girls aged between 8 and 14. For more details, contact Allan on 01278 789145.
