Children’s visit to Burnham sorting office gets stamp of approval!

-

A group of youngsters from Berrow made a special visit to Burnham-On-Sea’s Sorting Office on Thursday (February 3rd) when the work of the town’s posties up close.

Over a dozen children from Berrow Pre-School and the Reception Class at Berrow Primary School enjoyed the visit to the Dunstan Road office during their week of Postman Pat themed activities.

“Each child wrote a letter to send home and was shown the sorting process. They also enjoyed a very interesting talk from Postman Dan about different types of post and how they are delivered,” Daycare Manager Annette Milburn told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The children also saw a post van, post bike and post trolley and were able to try on a postie’s jacket. One of the highlights of the trip was being weighed on the large post scales!”

The children were given a special pack with a pen, paper and envelopes in it to mark their visit, plus a DVD all about ‘Lenny the Letter’.
