BARB hovercraft called amid concern for mud walkers
BARB rescue hovercraft was called to Weston-super-Mare by Coastguards
on Sunday afternoon (May 28th) amid concern for a group of walkers.

here. BARB's volunteers were called out with the Spirit of Lelaina
2 hovercraft alongside Weston Coastguards.
said: "BARB's hovercraft and volunteers were called to Weston-super-Mare
by Coastguards at 2.08pm following concern for the welfare of a
group of walkers in beach mud."
group had waded out across the mudflats at low tide to try and reach
the sea. They were over a mile from the shore, prompting concerns
that they were in difficulty."
Spirit of Lelaina 2 hovercraft was taken by road to Weston beach.
Fortunately, the people managed to get back to the beach of their
own accord and no further action was required."
