Secret World Wildlife Rescue founder joins protest over badger culls

-

The founder of a local wildlife charity near Burnham-On-Sea has joined a protest in London against badger culls.

Pauline Kidner, founder of Secret World Wildlife Rescue in East Huntspil, joined members of several other badger groups across the country at the protest over the cull of badgers that has now been going on for 10 years.

Pauline told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I find it incredible that we are still culling badgers especially.”

“In the very first year in 2013, the shooting was monitored by an Independent Expert Panel whose Chairman, Professor Ranald Munro, found the shooting of badgers to be inhumane, inefficient and ineffective with some badgers taking longer than 5 minutes to die.”

She adds: “The killing continues with no control and we find the reduction of Bovine TB in cattle in England the same as in Wales where no culling takes place.”

Other speakers were from the Badger Trust, Born Free, Voice for Badgers and Betty Badger.
