-

Burnham-On-Sea fire crews were called to tackle a beach hut blaze in the sand dunes early on Thursday (April 23rd).

Crews were called to the property in Burnham’s dunes near Allandale Road at 5.28am, where the building was reported to be in flames.

“Two fire appliances from Burnham-On-Sea attended a fire involving a beach hut which was well alight on arrival of the crews,” said a spokesman.

“One main jet was used to attack the fire, which was swiftly brought under control.”

“The hut was severely damaged.”

Crews confirmed the cause as “accidental ignition.”
