Coastguard called to 'stranded' kayaker in River Axe
from Burnham-On-Sea, Weston and Clevedon were called out on Sunday
(June 25th) amid concerns for a kayaker reported to be in difficulty
in mud next to Brean Down.

a 'stranded kayaker' in the River Axe estuary, as pictured below.
Coastguard Officer Dave Welland told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "A
member of the public had seen a person in a kayak that appeared
stranded in the river just North of Brean Down."
Coastguard were tasked as it was their side of Brean Down and Clevedon
Coastguard also attended, but as the kayak was in the river they
were unable to spot them from the beach."
